thats just my two cent.
hold on. i killed those bass, gutted them and then discovered the roe, i didnt intentially set out to kill bass full of roe. in hind sight would i have done anything different? well no, i still woud have killed them its my right. there is no law stating otherwise. the bass have their closed season to spawn and any bass that didint make are simpy casualties of nature, life goes on. humans sometimes seem to forget we are animals as well, we are activily involved in the food chain, would anyody give out to a polar bear for killing a mother seal and leaving the seal pups to die? i think not. i dont go out and kill everyfish i catch, i take what i need for my family and occasionaly neighbours to eat, nothing goes to waste.
honesty mark i personaly wouldnt kill a tope never mind a pregnant one, like i said i have to much respect for them. but for me to call them 'distgusting' or 'sick' is not right either, its theres to kill and i respect them for having there way of doing things. you cannot bring the eastern european anglers killing protected coarse fish into this argument, this has nothing to do with breaking laws, killing a tope in new zealand is not illeagle, nor is it illeagle here.
why should they leave the last bit out? they didnt force you to watch it, if its not your cup of tea turn it off and look away. i like to know where my food comes from and im happy to see their kids arn't nannyised into thinking their food is caught in cellophane and plastic packaging from the supermarket reef ten miles out to sea. im sure you've eaten cheep proccesed meat in your life, we all know the suffering battery chickens and intesive farmed pigs and cattle are subjected to. maybe i should call you an idiot for buying such things, but then again this is life and above all sh!t happens so get over it.
angling is not just about catch and release and comps, first off its a sport that was created as a means to obtaining food. while the majority of us irish have forgoten this and i may add taken positive steps in conserving our fish stocks the rest of the world still considers this sport as hunting. what makes us so high and mighty to say otherwise.
