Mackerel have arrived

#1 Post by pete »

Took first macks of the year on Sunday the 25th. Joy of joys! Great to see them again. Only managed two but at least they have started running.
So get your mackerel lures out lads!

Hi Pete

Well done. A nice week and they will be inshore.
Where did you catch them?

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Kieran,
Got them on St.Johns Point, Donegal Bay. Real harbringers of summer, should see them build in numbers over the next couple of weeks.

Mackerel taken off Bray Head in the boats last week - 2 dozen to an angler who persisted on feathering.
