Just wondering how distance compare on both reels during a casting competition?

Pretty simular from my exp, spool slip is more prev with the 7ht mag esp on the 175g

the only person i have seen using one is yourself paddy. I use a 7ht turbo magged for the 175g only because of the amount of line on it. I have never cast those 6600w fella's, might start saving for one of those bad boys.

6600w holds the same amount of line as a 6500 .

what is the benefits of using the 6600w Andrew?

ive tried them and found none , the spool is wider but has a smaller diameter than a 6500 spool , they both empty quickly when using .35mm line . the red daiwa seems popular enough for 175 work , but so does the 6600w , its what ever you feel right for the job

Yes what I found when I had my 6600w for 175g even though it holds the same as a 6500, like you say because it has a lower diameter spool, I was able to overfill it and still get a good grip on the spool, more than I could with a 6500, which seems to be practically empty on 0.35mm with anything over 230m.

You have a 6500w though don't you AG? Seem to be pretty rare to find.

there is a cage and spool on ebay at the moment for the conversion :wink: its down as a benfield 6600 but its a wde 6500 spool and cage
