I called ammo direct as coming over to S.Ireland on Monday to fish and wanted to source some if none about to dig. They gave me a number for a Mr Murray who is the supplier in ireland. Not sure if this is a private number so I'll post to your private message board.
If you speak to him I would be ineterested to know what shops stock them near or around Courtmacsherry.

I know for a fact that ClonTackle in Clonakilty (near Courtmac) sells sandeels and I'm pretty sure they are Ammo

Have to say that the sand eels we got from there last year were very expensive and a bit ropey although might have improved. We considered buying a mini freezer and bringing bait over from UK although ran out of stock. We will have to chance digging or if that fails a new mortgage to pay for enough bait for a week.

You are right re; ClonTackle. It certainly was hideously expensive. I do know however that there has been a change of management (I'm pretty sure anyway) so perhaps things have changed. If you can haul a load over yourself thats probably the better option

Try looking for KB baits. Good value for money and excellent quality. I had some in my freezer which defrosted. Managed to get it going again and refroze the eels to use a doggie bait. When I came to use them I found them to be still good and went on the hook no problem. Seem to remmber catching fish other than doggies to.
