Baitfish Poll Part II -

#1 Post by JimH »

Again for the 78 votes and notes received guys thank you very much - I have added a second short poll to www.probassfisher.com (top right). If you have voted in the first one it would be deadly as they say in wexford if you could vote in this one too!

I do realise a few things

Anglers may not be looking for baitfish
The type of angling activity might be conducted at the wrong time to see baitfish
It may not be physically possible to see the buggers
Some angling activity is more conducive to spotting 'baitfish' than others

One question though - if you do happen to see 'baitfish' in the water what do you generally do?

Jim,
I dont know if it is any use to the poll, but I have had shoals of smaller sandeels follow my storm sandeel right to my feet at a certain location on several occasions. They didnt seem too bothered with my movements in the water, as soon as it left the water they would disperse.

Danny.

I noticed the water in Bangor marina last night was alive with the wee buggers, couldn't make out what they were but there were hundreds of wee 3" long silver boyos darting around on the surface under the shine of the nearest ship's light.

A cast net would have been a handy addition
