Culdaff Beach 3/1/10

fished from 5 am yesterday morning to 10 am , bait was sandeel , lug , mack . three hook flappers , tide was in full at 7.45 am , caught 8 small whiting , 1 small turbot , 1 large flounder just under 2lb weight . first time out fishing in weeks , great to get out . happy new year to all of ye . :D

welldone sounds like a nice flounder shame the whiting was all small there seems to be a poor show of whiting all over the country

nice first sess; for 2010 and a nice sized flounder, well done mate....
as ole rab c said " see me' see the sea' i love the sea me"

Nice session there, can I ask what part you were fishing? Near the river mouth or further along the beach?
2011 Species: 191lb Common Skate, Mackerel, Pollock, Spotted Ray, Spurdog, Thornback Ray, Tub Gurnard

was on the right hand side beside the rocks lad , i read that being beside a river when theres snow about puts the fish off as too much cold water coming into sea .

Great to see you getting into some fish. all that effort and reaserch is showing in the results.

As for the whiting they have only really turned up this year, we never really seen them before turning up on the beach.

hopefully things can only get better when i join the sa club , practice makes perfect marc lad , and i need a lot of it .
