Report:
After a over a month of not being able to wet a line due to cold and flu going round all 4 kids (and my heavily pregnant wife having a bad back), I finally managed to get a run out to the Dee. I wasn't sure what to expect as I usually fish this mark at night, but was hopeful after the high winds the night before.
I set up one rod with a 3 hook flapper, and the other rod with a wee homemade rig festooned with booms, sequins and beads (I'm tempted to call it the "Strictly Come Dancing" rig
After being tortured by crabs
It stayed quiet for the rest of the morning, so I decided to have the famous "one last cast" before heading home. Within 5 minutes, I had a hit on the bling rig, and was well pleased to land a nice wee 20cm flounder - another new species
I set myself a target of 10 species at the start of the year, and the flounder was the one that did it!
The race is on now to get in as many sessions in the next few weeeks as I can, before baby no.5 arrives, and I am grounded for a month or two!!
