PIMPyour bait elastic container
Sick of your bait elastic disappearing back into the container, and it normally happens on the coldest wettest nights.
I took the insert out of a drinks bottle, lucozade sport (I think it was) and planted it onto the top of my container and it works a treat. It is easier to thread the elastic through and it stops the elastic going back into the container, see attached photo.
i will post the method that I used later.

Thats a good idea alright, used to hate the way the elastic kept pulling itself back into the container.

Re: PIMPyour bait elastic container
Get a lid from a lucozade sport bottle and push the white plastic insert out with a pointed tool.
Then use a 10mm drill bit to make a hole in the container lid and glue the bottle top into the lid using super glue.

Re: PIMPyour bait elastic container
There is an alternative to the bottle top.
You could just glue a piece of rubber to the lid (e.g a bit of inner tube) put a tiny slit into it and push the thread through it.
Cant see that not working either.

Re: PIMPyour bait elastic container
bit more low tech and not so stylish, but i find an elastic band round the container with the thread underneath it works fine.

Good thinking there. i will have to try to pimp mine up soon. I normally just go for the covered in bait and stinking look.

Re: PIMPyour bait elastic container
slightly off topic but still a way to "pimp" the container. i got some glow in the dark paint on ebay for the tip of my rod. i put a bit onto my elastic container and it works a treat if it falls off my box at night. you can see it glowing on the rocks or sand. hell of a lot easier than walking around with the headlamp glued to the ground looking for it.

as red said i did similar with my container but used reflective tape from halfords. also put it on my scissors, forceps, knife etc. its a gift for finding them in the sand
