i find the baitrunner the best, but is this considered a fresh water reel? i thought it was so it needs extra care and attention in saltwater

Re: best spinning reel for lures etc
I'd buy the Stradic, too!
But dont forget to buy the front drag version (FA, FB, FI or FH), because they are more resistant and have a better drag! I use a TwinpowerFA and feel very good with it, but it might cost more than you want to spend.
I've got Baitrunners in my home country too, but I'd never put them close to any salt water...
And to be honest, they are no spinnfishing reels, but quite good for carp and pike fishing.
In germany a lot of anglers use the cardiff for larger baits in fresh water, too! Have fun with it wayne! Do you know whether it's salt water resistant? An other good baitcaster for sea angling might be the Abu Revo Inshore, that is realy salt water resistant.
cheers!
