Bangkok-Bungsam ran fishing pond-go for giant mekong cat fish, havent been there yet,but know a few friends that did fish there before.Good luck and have fun.
I caught King Mackeral at Phi Phi - it was on an old type Thai boat. Used small baitfish which we caught first, then float fished them with no joy - I tried freelining one and had an instant hit - fish was about 20lb and a local restaurant BBQ it for us.
You only need to book it the night before. The guides are local so speak no english , and the tackle is supplied. It's cheap as chips and is great craic - the boats are roomy and 3 of us fished comfortably.
I think there may be a picture of the fish on the gallery (way way back)
