Duration: 10:30 - 11:30

Tide: Low water at 9:21

Weather: Clouds, strong wind

Bait: Mackerel strip

Rigs: 2-Hooked flapper

Results: 1 small fish (whiting?)

Catch and Release:: Yes

Hi all,
after 4 weeks in a row returning blank I finally managed to catch a fish :mrgreen: Weather was terrible and wind was strong. Neverless I catch a fish which I suspect is a whiting. Am I right?

That was second thing I suspect but I even wouldn't dare to think that it is a coalfish. Can you tell me how do you know this is coalie? (I still have plenty to learn about fishing in Ireland). Thanks for that :)

well for starters, its back is darker than a whiting and its mouth is smaller. the whitings mouth would me bigger and full of teeth :shock:
