Tide: Low water at 9:21

Weather: Clouds, strong wind

Bait: Mackerel strip

Rigs: 2-Hooked flapper

Results: 1 small fish (whiting?)

Catch and Release:: Yes

Hi all,
after 4 weeks in a row returning blank I finally managed to catch a fish

Weather was terrible and wind was strong. Neverless I catch a fish which I suspect is a whiting. Am I right?

That was second thing I suspect but I even wouldn't dare to think that it is a coalfish. Can you tell me how do you know this is coalie? (I still have plenty to learn about fishing in Ireland). Thanks for that

well for starters, its back is darker than a whiting and its mouth is smaller. the whitings mouth would me bigger and full of teeth
