Hello everybody,
I have only just started shore fishing, most of my angling being coarse with a bit of fly fishing now and again. On my second outing to Lacken Strand in Mayo today I caught my only fish of the day a small flatfish. I think its a small turbot but would appreciate confirmation from you lot who know better.
It was spiney on its back and took a strip of mackerel about 50 yds out, I will post the picture.
Great site I have learned loads its just a case of putting all the great tips and info into practice.[img][IMG:1024:768]http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u270/woodyguthriephoto/flounder.jpg[/img][/img]
give ballyquinn east a try to the left by the rocks, had them up to just over a pound last couple of years, lug tipped with mackerel or sandeel fillets best bait.
nice 1 rocketman...will give it a bash...tramore used to be full of them, b ut they r making a comeback...a friend of mine caught a codling with a baby turbot in its mouth, which shows they r there..
