Fish Identification

#1 Post by woody guthrie »

Hello everybody,
I have only just started shore fishing, most of my angling being coarse with a bit of fly fishing now and again. On my second outing to Lacken Strand in Mayo today I caught my only fish of the day a small flatfish. I think its a small turbot but would appreciate confirmation from you lot who know better.
It was spiney on its back and took a strip of mackerel about 50 yds out, I will post the picture.
Great site I have learned loads its just a case of putting all the great tips and info into practice.[img][IMG:1024:768]http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u270/woodyguthriephoto/flounder.jpg[/img][/img]

Thanks lads, hope this is the first of many fish.

I must sort out some decent wet weather gear for my next trip out though, i got soaked today but I am enjoying the new experience.
