Definitely not. If you're going to use bait, I like to fish light and in close in calm conditions. A 1oz weight, a light rod. After dark, keep the light and noise levels down. try free lining a launce or small mackerel close in, you could also try plugging. bass love a good patrol in all weather conditions and wont turn down a free meal.
