Tried floating beads ??? I haven't myself. mightn't but them out, but it might reduce them a bit.
I usually just put a tip of bait on the hook and put up with them. I usually find they disappear when the bass arrive. When the doggies stop biting, its time to get off your backside and prepare for the frontal assault.

Ah, good old LSDs, much loved by match men everywhere, problem is I've never got amongst them in a match and tend instead to be plagued by them on pleasure sessions from time to time.
I was fishing Tope in Lough Swilly last year on Rapala with full mackerel fillets and flappers on 7/0 forged hooks, after several doubles of doggies on a single hook  I wound in another double shot with one on the hook and the other (insert description as you see fit... Suicidal, Mad, Stupid....whatever) doggie had his mouth firmly fastened around the wire trace I was using, about a foot up from the hook. :? It was nearly as hard to unclamp him from it as it was to unhook the other one, he wasn't for getting left behind.

Nice tip.
On one of my regular beaches, changing your casting distance helps. But then it's often a choice of catching doggies or catching nothing :(
If you can't avoid them, the Gemini Disgorger is a handy tool for removing them quickly. Also, I've found pennel rigs can prevent some gut hooks. (But if they do swallow the pennel it's a mess).
