fishing in Arklow info

#1 Post by mann »

HALLO all nice to find a crew that sound as bad as me for fishing, ive joined today and would be happy to give any info that may help anyone thinking of fishing areas that i fish around clare and kerry,
but at the moment i need info myself, i will be fishing in arklow this saturday and have never fished that far up the coast i hear white rag is best bait but cant get my hands on any in limerick,
can anyone tell me of other baits that may catch me flounder or Dab,
if any of you are fishing the clare area i would be pleased to let you know where to dig and collect your bait,
cheers.

if you plan to fish south each arklow any worm bait should catch you a few dozen flatties. i have had success here with lug rag and best of all maddies for the flats with fish and worms working well for the likes of codling, whiting and coalies. fish also accounts for dogs if they are around.
the fishing here can be very fast but the fish are small. but if you are out to catch a few fish its great fun. very good match venue as you really have to work at top speed all day

best of luck, hope this helps

I heard that you are not supposed to go onto the Roadstone pier . . .but I have never known anyone to be told to get off.

My mates fished there 3 weeks ago. Wasnt great!
