I have heard some dodgy reports about it in the lower breaking strains, however, I use 36lb Vanish as rig body for all my scratching rigs. Its also used for all flowing traces for the boat and as snood line for my Pulley rigs. I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with it in any way shape or form.

I used it for a while for snoods Al but found it almost 'brittle', didn't like it so moved to the softer forms of fluro like seaguar and grauvell

I dont know about anyone else AL, but my advise is not to go near the stuff !! its a curse if your fishing for the likes of whiting and codling etc...
evry time iv used it i had to change the trace after evey cast !! because of the fish kinking the snoods !!
species '09 - (42)

specimens 09 - twait shad 1.22kg , 3 beard rockling 2lb 6oz , whiting 3lb .

have to agree with pete, its a very brittle line. lost several fish on it so put it in the bin. now use seaguar exclusively. mac tackle are doing a good deal on it

What type of Seaguar are you using Paul ?

Am heading to Florida in May and will be spending some time in the BassPro Shop in orlando. :D :D :D
They have a few different types of flouro including a few types of Seaguar - any recommendations as to which ones to get/avoid?

BTW - the prices are ridiculously low $14 (€10) for spool?? when you compare to prices here.

Gonna load up with a shedload of line/hooks etc when over there 8)

If anyone wants any stuff at these prices send us a PM and I will put a list together and pick it up - only smaller stuff as i have to cart it through airports etc

john,
i use the seaguar carbonpro in 8, 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30lbs strenghts thats how much i like it. i can get it off of mactackle for less than a score for 200yrds. which is good value, was in the states last year and must have tried at least 10 different tackle shops for the stuff and couldnt get it

Hi,

Have chucked every spool of Vanish I own. Very very brittle for snoods especially around the knots which I have crack and break...

Have got some Seagur and PLine (200yds ~€20) from cabellas.com very expensive but far superior

I have a spool of it find it difficult to tie a tucked half blood knot on it so just tie a blood knot without the tuck at the end haven't lost any fish on it yet but then I haven't caught much on it either I don't think I'll be buying it again.

seems fluro is a bit fickle, barr seguar which i find great...i bought some sure catch hi tensile stuff from japan...cant even tie a knot in it..and i mean a normal over hand its so bad...its 80lb and 50lb...very unmanagable!!
