It would pull you in midget!
Only joking there was an article in sea angler a few years ago about a guy called Jack Shine who caught porbeagles off the Clare coast many moons ago, maybe theres something on the web about him?
i have read that discussion and i find it very interesting but i was More interested in whether anyone had ever heard of them specifically coming from ballyreen.
Also would any of the nucases on the forum be mad enough to accompany me on a expedition?
hi fishing midget this might help you. i saw you had been fishing from black head so if you moved oo down the coast just outside lahinch there is a place called green island and over the years there has been porbeagle sharks caught here. its a generally good place to fish. mind there was a dolphin making fishing harder here this year. shark fishing is usually floating flapper baits generally mackeral with a slice taken out removing the spine up the lenght of the fish. you will also need to slick the water with blood(rubby dubby). this is chopped up mackeral mixed with meal packed into a holey bag(onoin sack) and kept just at the level of the rising and falling wave
ya green island seems to be the place as you canfloat a mackrel ether side of the island depending on the wind id go for 50lbs takle at least 30lbs would be pushing it
ps any one know when porbegal apear arond our cost
