Mactackle-still problems.

#1 Post by Adam S »

After mactackles latest promise on this site (Search for mactackle and you will see what i mean) that they were back up and running i ordered some hooks form them as i needed bulk ASAP for pike fishing for me and my mates.

order taken on their site, money taken from ny credit card,

two weeks, 22 phonecalls later, 4 e mails later and no reply and no hooks, now its only 17 euro, but its the principle of the matter. i also notice that their postal address has disappeared from their site. yet the site is still open and taking orders and money.

if anyone has been having similar current problems i would be very interested to hear, here or by PM .

Thanks
Adam

Resolution...

Ye should talk to the bank that issued your credit card and get a refund... nothing works quicker to resolve a dispute like this then the offenders being threatened with credit card fraud...

I ordered plugs the first week in July, money debited from my Credit Card and still no sign of anything 3 months later. It takes 2 days for deliveries from Veals in Bristol....a joke!

This post was made on July 13th to my initial query about my order. I've not heard from anyone from Mactackle.

If MacTackle.com won't give you an immediate refund, pursue it with your CC company or PayPal.

Lads, why, after all the numerous threads relating to Mac-Tackle would anyone be bothered dealing with them again? I know its nice to buy Irish and support someone this side of the water but there appears to be constant problems with this crowd.

I bought once or twice, wasnt happy with service and substitutions so wont be dealing with them again.

I fell for it but in hindsight I'm slightly sceptical about some of these posts ...

Had problems with a separate company before - if you get in touch with your credit card company within 45 days (may be different for different companies) they should be able to refund you. Also contact the Director of Consumer Affairs if you want to report it http://www.odca.ie/
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Thanks to Teacher, I got my money back after contacting the credit card company and sending them a record of emails requesting delivery and a refund.

At the time, Paypal said I couldn't claim back through them due to the time lapse but I got an email from them at the weekend saying that my credit card company filed a chargeback against them and they were checking it out.

It is very disheartening to think that the company is still taking orders that they cannot supply. Did anyone get an offer of a free gift?

I wouldn't waste any more time phoning them - get onto your credit card company and get your money back.

MacTackle - P Wyse

#16 Post by JimC »

Yes, those messages have the same IP's.

I will add that I ordered two rod holders from MacTackle. I ordered by email as they weren't listed on the site. They arrived. I got them collected in Dublin and paid for them on collection rather than using PayPal.

Based on the experiences of site members to-date it would be fair to say it is not worth the bother of dealing with MacTackle. Pity, as Nizan seems like a nice fellow and as mentioned earlier it's good to support an Irish Co.

And we didnt even need ghostwriter or CSI to solve it.

It is a pity though caus its always nice to support your own, but the chance was there.

Does henrys tackle shop in Dublin have a good history?

I must say from what i know, visiting here that I havnt heard a bad word about them.

burgers,

Yes! Henry's tackle is a very good company to deal with, you wont have any problems at all....if you phone during working hours, you'll get an answer.

Sorry to hear about the problems some of you guys have had with MAC, I would only add, dont let them blacken other companies who sell online, or this site either.

I am sure if a trader starts to play tricks on forum members by giving himself good remarks on a forum, it only goes to prove he's not to be trusted IMHO.

One good thing about the internet, things like this dont stay a secret for long, perhaps in future it may be better for SAI members to ask before they part with cash and not after.

Good Luck to all in their claims.

Tom.
