Be careful with heat on the tip, you can do a lot of damage if the blank tip gets to hot.....this is how you do it......take a piece of thin string or thick thread and tie it to the tip ring...leave a length long enough to hook the other end onto a door handle or something similar, hold the rod and pull the thread or string in a straight line with the rod..at the same time hold a lighter flame under the tube of the tip guide, move it back and forth to spread the heat.....the instant the glue melts the tip will come off and be left hanging on the string/thread...this way the blank is not under heat for to long and you wont effect the resin in the rod tip.
Dont use pliers or twist the heated guide tip off, this can loosen the weave of the blank fabric and you end up with what looks like a 12ft fine tip paint brush
A new tip is easy to attach, just make sure the tube size is right and the tip guide itself is in line.......for as long as need be until the glue is dry.
