thinking of getting into boat angling,anyone have any advice on some gear that wont break the bank.

lots of people spend way too much, you should be able to get a perfectly servicable rod/reel for £50 ish i have about 4 rods and reels and dont think i paid over £35 for any item.

i really do not see the point in spending big money unless its for beach casting and you are seriously good at casting.

OKUMA do reels at less than £30 (catalina and diezel range) and RON THOMPSON has boat rods for as little as £11!

although ia better deal is usually to buy a package such as the MUSTAD (viking) package at between £65 and £85 depending on spec

As ray says, you don't have to splash out to start off.

But it is the start of a slippery slope............... :!:
