Would also be interested to hear this also. Been trying with lures and mackrel off curracloe but only plenty of bull huss so far. They seem to get to the mackrel very quickly

Hi lads,

Quick shore fishing question. I have an 9 foot Abu Garcia Vendetta spinning rod 15- 40g. It is matched with a Shimano Catana 4000RB reel. Is this setup sufficient for targeting bass with plugs and soft plastics? I'm not worried about casting weight. It's more will the rod be able to handle a good sized fish or struggle with snags if I am spinning.

Thanks,

Tim.

Tim your setup is very similar to mine and I believe you will have no issues handling the bigger fish!

Tim that will handle bass no problem. You might struggle to cast some of the lighter weedless soft plastics but for fish fighting you will be fine
