Cork - Lure fishing - Friday 13th

#1 Post by JimC »

Had a nice day out on Friday.

Plenty pollack on the offshore reefs.... size not huge.
Lots of codling inshore with a few bigger fish amongst.

All told it was great to get out.

Great day out. :) Are the Bellavista boats available to rent all year round now seeing they are in the Marina?

You've really caught the film bug bad Jim! I heard a rumour that you've ordered a clapboard and directors chair on e-bay for the next trip out on Skua

Tis all a bit of craic.... and adds a new dimension. I don't think I would be doing it every day out though!

great video, nice advert for a go on the selfdrive boats :)

Can I ask what size lead you had on the head of the worm, and would that take the worm right to the bottom ?

I would usually use anywhere between 20 and 65 grams depending on conditions.
That day I was using 45gr in most cases. I use the least weight possible that I can still keep in contact with the bottom.
In less depth of water I would be using 10-30gr. That is using very thin braid.
