Report:
had to make the most of the weather so headed down to the coast to try a bit of fly fishing. have recently started to tie my own flies and so i was eager to give a few of them a bash. and the weather was great.. very mild

i found a sheltered little bay away from the wind and got stuck in. firstly put on a sandeel/minnow blue and silver fly that had been in my box for a while and straight away i could see and feel fish hitting it, happy days. after many hits and no hook-ups

tied on a sandeel/minnow type white fly that i had tied myself and all changed, it was a fish a cast, every cast, as soon as it hit the water. it was great to out again after weeks of no fishing

so after a while the white fly was in complete tatters

i nearly got fed-up catchin them

i lost count of the number of coleys (30-40) but did manage one pollack. maybe the biggest fish was 1.5lb. not big but all great fun on the fly rod. at the last minute i decided to throw a spinner at them too to see if they would just as eager to take, they were.
great to be in the water again

Happy New Year and tight lines folks
