Sounds like a great idea defo be up for this, any ideas on where and wen?
Prob could move tread so all people on sai could decide if they be up for it as the more the merrier

No, No I do not. I remember a rotton chinese, some vomit, a flying hairyconger, no sleep, a 4am walk around Portstewart, and asking for help in a internet phone booth at 8am the following morning... I believe it was something to the extent of "I no longer fear hell, as I've drunk with Stevecrow"...

This is positive.... Wanted to gauge peoples opinions first before throwing it out for all and sundry to chew through. NvSvEvW sounds like fun, we can work out how to score it so its open to all top 5 results from each area count perhaps? Purely for bragging rights although Im sure we will be able to have a decent prize return also. Perhaps a few quid off to the Lifeboat boys at the same time?

Al, the idea is to run this as a friendly comp, I think we had the guts of 30 on Benone a few years ago, I'd hope to beat that this time and cos of that, rock marks wont really be suitable. Welcome any other suggestions though.... Maybe see could we get some of the casting lads to do a dem or two on the day....? Perhaps one or two of our international brethren could have a little school in for any interested parties beforehand? Just thoughts and ideas is all, thats all it was the first time....

That's not to say, that if we were having the Beach comp on a Sunday, we couldn't have a crew together for the Saturday to do a bit of Rockhopping, I'd say, since we only do this from time to time it would be a good idea to make a full on weekend of it, A Saturday & Sunday meet? I'm sure there's plenty of lads who'd be up for a 2 day'er...

We just need to start working on a venues, etc etc....

will be up for this, what about the 4 counties in teams and a c+r match rules thing,all for bragging right and a small entry fee for donation to the lifeboats boys as pete sudjested, and could the marks be walking distance as dont think many of us who would camp could drive too far the next day

I might even come out of fishing retirement for this one

haven't wet a line in anger for almost 2 months and need a good kick up the arse. This might give me something to look forward to. The last one was great craic even though the fishing was piss poor (I hate that beach) Whitepark bay could be a good venue for an unoffical camp/barbecue/drink/fish and there are a few decent rock marks close to hand for people to hop about on as well.

Its a safety thing Davy, so your gentle eyes/ears dont get offended as some of the slagging gets a bit rough

. You have to ask for access which is freely given, from what I remember it was somewhere that all the guff from the main forum could be still viewed even when it was removed from original posts.
Hopefully the challenge match gets of the ground (a bit like Drews casting

!!!)

it all sounds great lads. interclub/NvsS comps etc are common in every sport and should also be common in angling, it could bring some of the fun back to the pubs!

Glad to see there is some interest here lads

Hopefully this will grow legs and come to fruition. While it would be nice to take on board everyones ideas and opinions, I'm sure you will all appreciate that just isnt going to be possible from an organisational point of view. We will put the heads together and come up with something shortly that hopefully you guys can work with and start planning for. Thanks for all the comments, keep them coming.....
