westish waterford 13/10/10

Tide:falling/rising

Weather:
calm lite breeze
Bait:
lures
Rigs:

Results:lots of pollack, few bass, 1 luance




Report:
got out to a deep water lure mark today reckoned inshore might still be a bit to coloured smashing day to be out fishing it was fairly unproductive untill the tide started coming in lots of activity, lost a nice 5lb+ pollack which took at my feet 1 launce which went back out on a jighead and few bass (2 for me) lots of follows from big fish for the other lad think they moved my way seen 1 roll in the breaking wave along the rocks 1 minute later fish on best about 5lb

Sure was a nice evening to be out and about Sean, spotted a couple of other fishy spots there too, and didn't blank either :D , mind you the bass you had were slightly better stamp of fish! 8) 8)

Cracking lure session seanie mate, well done 8) At least the wind has calmed off abit now. Those bass are in great condition, love the pics. Did you catch anything on the Luance? They can be a great bait, I have caught bass using the same method as you did with yours, putting a jig head on and chucking it out and spinning with it in the surf. Bass and pollack go mad for them, there's no need for the artificial lures when you have them at hand to use.
Did you nearly lose another lure?

na paula ended up snagging its a good way to get a fish though 8)

I lost a 25 quid lure in Wexford the other week - pain in the arse! Launce look far more economical! :) great session, bass bass bass!! :D

nice fishing there.great pass.i have to admit its one of the smallest launces ive ever seen.more like a large sandeel. :mrgreen:

great session sean, those bass look in super condition 8) 8)
had a good night myself ,i ended up catching 3 ,best one about
5 lb :P all on lug best of crab with me and it wasn't touched all night

suppose until something eats it jay a delicate cast was required if i was spinning it a bit of elastic thread wouldve been handy to whip the snout aswell

its meant to be a deadly method only ever worked once for me up in dublin, havnt tried it very often 8)

Nice fishing Seanie. Trying to figure out the spot you were fishing. Presume it was low water and between Ardmore and Dungarvan?

a great busy session there seanie :P i'll bet losing a launce to a snag was a hell of a bit easier to take than a £15 lure :o

very true al i lost my favourite lure of the moment and about 30 minutes later declan reeled it in stuck on his lure......blessed 8)
