cheers man. it was a very welcome surprise :D
vamper wrote:Well done on a few greta sessions lads, and congratulations on the cuckoos :D
i have to agree with you about litter being left on marks  . If everyone just took 5 mins at the end of their session clear up their rubbish.
thanks man. sadly there seems to have been a group of lads fishing that spot hard since i put up the huss report  . i would'nt mind so much, if only they cleaned up after themselves
FisherKing wrote:Well done lads 8) great report & pics Al, would love to catch a cuckoo ray or any Ray  8)
cheers brian. we've fished that mark a brave few times before and never had a sniff of one. so it was great to get 4 between us in a session
forest wrote:well done! that looked like a belter of a session would love to get one of them rays!!!!
thanks man. it will likely turn out like our bass session on the antrim coast the other year. 6 in one session and not a sniff of one since   typical

GEORGE H wrote:Hi Al
There was quite a few cuckoo rays caught last week from the same area. But they are very hit and miss. You could fish that same mark the next night and not get any.
Well done and I am sure young Jordan will get one soon enough. My own young lad loves catching rays or any flat fish ( as he likes to call them)
George
thanks george. since putting up the report i've had a few phone calls from lads who have had the odd one in that general area. so, like you said. they are about, just gotta be lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time  :P
saving private brian wrote:well done on the fishing but great to see ye get ray off yer mark.nice pics
thanks brian. i'm just gutted now that i never bothered to enter the site species hunt as i'm bagging them in rightly this year   . ahh well,,, there's always next year i suppose
marshpike wrote:Well done on the Ray, cool as...
thanks robbie. thought the very same thing myself :P :P . we hope to get a few more species of ray down in co. kerry this weekend. apparently we stand a good chance for stingray, undulates and small eye's. so fingers crossed man :D :D

could'nt agree more shane, they're right up there with the cuckoo wrasse :P
eyesreilly wrote:That was just marvellous Al, great reading altogether  . You well deserve it for your efforts and I applaud your anti-littering message. And by the way,,,,,,,,,,you're a jammy git!!!!!!!There again , as the man says, the more you fish , the jammier you get   ,,,,,,,,,,,well done again
   thanks for the vote of confidence there dave   and there was me thinking it was my great angling prowess and skill :( . but as jordan says "you stand a chance of beating a good angler. but stand no chance of beating a bloody lucky angler!!". i guess i must fall into the latter of te 2   :D :D
