Can anyone recommend a fixedspool reel that I cant destroy in under a year

Only criteria is that it must have a long cast spool and hold at least 300 yards of .35mm line

dont get a zenith, piece of shite grauvell reels should remain in the box and taken out to look at every now and then but should not be used for actuall fishing. what happened to the xsa ultegras? thought they were surving for ya?

They actually look the job but with no casting spool they are not really gonna be suitable.

Andrew you wouldn`t be the first to reccommend that reel i hear it is Bullet Proof. and you can get 10,000 yards of line on it

THey last a couple of months if you are lucky. I agree with you they ARE pure shite.

The worst reel ever must be the Penn surfmaster. It a joke. But its amazing how the angling mags keep pushing and promoting it.

the 498 is a legend , i am prity sure it still holds the uksf fixed spool record on 0.35 line get the older ones the blue or the black ones , the newer ones arnt as good

I just picked up the older Surfmaster 70 on eBay, on all accounts meant to be a bit better than the current models, not sure if it would do your job though?

Always heard great reports on Shimanos but they can well up the price range. My theory is not to spend too much so I don't feel too bad when it ends up in the bin.

The old surfmaster 70 is a better reel by far I stil have one somewhere myself.

The shimano ultegra`s 10000/14000 are by far and away the best I have had and have lasted me over a year but it is probably because I have four of them and am alternating between them.

not if you can get one with a casting spool,
i have one about 20 years now with a shallow casting spool that holds around 250 yards of 15lb line as far as i can remember
