when your hands get cold hold your arms out streched to either side and swing them towards eachother like you're trying to hug someone really aggressively. keep repeating the motion back and forth. It pushes the blood back into your hands and helps warm them quicker. It looks a bit strange but it works. It did the trick when my hands were ready to fall off after a snow ball fight a few days back.
