hey lads
im off to kilmore key the weekend, renting out a trawler wreck fishing for half day, just wondering what gear i will youse i haven't done much wreck fishing, as an inshore boat fisherman i have a lot of gear, i made up some
killer rigs moppets and weighted perks also
red gills,
jelly worms,
rapala shads,
100lb conger traces
large black cod feathers
large hawkeye psycho lures
rag worm squid and mackerel
as we could only get half a day, i wanted to get the most out of the gear can anyone tell me what to youse out of this lot please
and or what speceus im likely to catch?
any help would be great thanks

hi you wont need all tha gear for half a day as you will spend few hours going there and getting back

hope this helps few decent pollock down there and ling cod are scarce

I hope your use of the word trawler is just misused

It is illegal to to hire out a boat in Ireland unless it has a Department of Transport passenger license or exemption from same, so if this is actually a trawler operating as an unlicensed passenger boat then if I were you my first stop would be the Garda station in Kilmore Quay to report the unlicensed operator as you will not be covered by any insurance and it may have little if any safety equipment

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I'm sorry thought I was helping you out as it sounds very like you're being conned out of money by an unlicensed which would also mean uninsured, unsafe operator in his "trawler" who offers "half day" wreck trips
