Re: peeler crab reversal
maybe samo if they had access to a time machine they could jump forward in time to just before peeling hence a reversal in the peeling processsamo wrote:only if they access to a time machine.

Re: peeler crab reversal
ok sounds like a dumb question but i mean in the very early stages of peeling when theres a bare wisp of skin when you check the legs. i know that you can slow down the peeling process by regulating the temp.

Seanie,
if you want to slow em down - its not just regulating the temp but regulating the moisture. Its the moisture they use to pop the shell.
By the way - have you any to spare???? There was at least 15 bass to 7lbs caught for three rods between 3 west waterford beaches the other nite!!!!!!! Now, heres the interesting thing. A lot of em were fit to burst and a few leaked melt. They must be spawning already. Fair play to the anglers for not killing them but it makes you wonder if the closed season should be changed

Re: peeler crab reversal
boycie do you reckon 1 or 2 dead crab in a batch of live ones in cold storage can kill the others similar to lug.........without the use of a time machineboycie89 wrote:id say it only when there is a drop in temp !! but if its just bad weather id say they just move to a more sheltered area

Re: peeler crab reversal
no mate i wouldnt say so ! but id say they would kill them if they were in a bit of water when a couple of them died !! obviously because it would contaminate the water

Re: peeler crab reversal
remove all dead crab no matter where your storing them, with live ones,
the bacteria from a dead crab is lethal to the rest of them
