I think you may have a salmon there. But I can't be sure going by the picture.
im 99% sure it's a trout the photo dont show it to clearly but there were lots of spots below AND above it's lateral lines so i think we will stick with a trout

Re: Dublin sea trout
Plus Salmon flesh is pink sea-trout flesh is pale
Wild salmon is pale aswell, they actually put die in the pellets they feed the farmed salmon to give it its pink colouration......apparently the "pink" colour is more consumer friendly

Re: Dublin sea trout
Me thinks wild salmon are pink Dude… they get the colour from the food they eat while at sea ie prawns and the like,
The farmed mush are fed the pink dye to fool people into thinking they are buying wild fish… that’s what me thinks anyway
Well done John,
Nice trout man,

Re: Dublin sea trout
No Salmon are pink, in fresh water as well.
I think it's from the food they eat.
But I also heard a theory that the more an animal moves the more red the flesh gets.

Was in Tesco today. Saw a Japaneese woman buying a "Salmon". I went up and informed her and the guy behind the counter that it wasn't a salmon. The guy behind the counter knew it wasn't. He never even argued with me.
