Re: West Clare Rock Mark 4th. Sept. 2008 - Wrasse and Triggers
To be honest it's been a long time since we had a sesssion like this. In the early eighties we self imposed a 25 wrasse limit per angler per session after we discovered a real wrasse hotspot in Baltard Bay.
The Triggers were around last year up to the end of October.
Here are some more images from that session.

What sort of fight do you get off Triggers?, are they similar to wrasse?

They fight hard for their size. My best was about 4.5 lbs. Average 2.5lbs. They sometimes tear off sideways and have a nasty habit of bending hooks and locking themselves into rock crevices!

last year I was getting them into the middle of oct (I didn't get a chance to fish after that so it could have been longer), but they seemed more lethargic than in the middle of Sept. Don't know how early they show up but this year we got some in August.
