id imagine you could still be good for the odd rogue mack or pollack - they still hit bait on the drop - so i would imagine a take could be expected on lures

will be very slow - prepare to blank - and they will be in deeper so prepare to loose gear

good luck

spinning from the shore

#3 Post by kieran »

Hi

Pollack fishing from the shore improves from late February onwards.

At the moment you should be able to get coalfish for fun and the odd mack in sheltered bay especially over sand. You might hit a bass mind!

I'd leave it a month or two, probably into March for spinning really.

What type of lures would you recommend for coalfish?

lure for coalfish!

The buggers will take anything including bare silver hooks! If you are looking for a good standard lure, use a small German sprat.
