waterfoot pier 17/11/07

Duration:1800/0200
Tide:full in around 5
Weather:light breeze rain on and off
Bait:ragworm lugworm mackerel squid
Rigs:conger trace 2 hook flappers
Results:codling dab conger dogfish lobster coalfish
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:headed up to Waterfoot pier to try for a few codling had heard there bigger than last year. mackerel baits were catching dogfish dab codling and then a conger.not much joy on the worm baits the pin whiting were tearing them off the hooks.we ended up between us 13 dogfish 11 small dab 1 coalfish 8 codling a lobster we were handed a few joey mackerel from an angler leaving sam targeted an eel and managed an 11 lb er had to climb down onto a boat to land it with his beach caster.

i have to agree with marty here. i dont think its safe. especially off of a pier where you would have a long fall and very deep water.
as for he woho are you to stop him question..... find someone else to fish with................

Lovely looking wee codling that, quite dark of itself. Is that mackerel hanging out of its gob Alan?
