cheap rod for congers

Hi Lads
anyone any recamendations for a cheap rod for congers i have an okuma reel i got with an uptide combo that is meant to be strong enough even though it is a combo but would love boat/conger rod

any rod will do if you know how to pley the fish ! i am determined to get one on my 13ft spinning rod this year . great crack !

i can barley catch a fish never mind play one in i can get a 7ft boat road for around the 30 euro mark i might buy it and bring it with me to ballycotton on sat

plenty of cheap boatrods about would do that job for you a friend of mine has a 5 ft light boat rod that he also uses for spinning.

i recently got a daiwa TDXU 4-8, havent used it yet but a buddy of mine has the same one and he uses it for everthing from flatties to specimen tope, seems very sensitive and unbelievably strong!!!!!

id prob go for a cheap boat rod...bout 12-20 would do for a bit of fun...prob pick 1 up for 50 euro man... plus the boat rods are small and easy to use on piers and harbours etc...also when conger fishing im adopting pike tactics...by usin a 2 samll trebles and place along the mackeral,stick one at the head and 1 at the end then bind the wire with elastic cotton... works very well

croppyboy, if you get any congers on ballycotton will you let me know ? all the times iv gone down iv had no less than 6 or seven conger and lost just as many within four hours but the last 2 times i went down for them i blanked !! plenty of coalies to macki but no conger !! hope you get some .
