Yeah! been using them from the boat this season and they are great! You know how i feel about beads in general but these guys are great and do work. I have used them on ledger rigs while drifting and they do increase your catch rate. The fisrst time i ever used one was up at Irelands Eye in close to Seagull rock for wrasse. First cast in close to the rock as the bait hit the water BOOM! Wrasse hit the bait. Could be coincidence but.... Also have found putting one on you feather rig while jigging for mackerel works a dream. Putting them on a flying collar rig for Pollack is supposed to work great according to mike thrussel but I have not yet tried this yet as tackle losses can be high. I would imagine it does work though.

thanks Luke. i am just curious. have been meaning to buy these for a while and just wanted to see if anyone had any feedback. from the shore i am sure they have limited use with 'time and place' being important. i'll give them a shot. could bre useful on the flounder and place rigs. i am sure the little vibrations from the ball bearing encourage a response from the fish. thanks again.

Booby beads? Yeah!

Can't comment on how they do when fished from the shore, I use them from a boat.

Stick them on your plaice rigs. Stick them on any attractor rigs. Stick them on the snoods of your cod feathers. Use them single or double. They're great.

I rater them as a piece of tackle that actually catches more fish than anglers, and that's pretty rare! :)

Booby beads - pike

#10 Post by pete »

Tried them above a toby fishing for pike(not sea fishing I know) and definetly got more hits than on the plain toby.

Boat fishermen fishing for plaice swear by them especially on wishbone rigs so I would say they would do no harm off the shore for plaice.
