lamprey

has anyone ever used lamprey for bait ,i bought 2 frozen ones and am going to try one tonight will put a report up re/ effetive compared to mack :?:

No i haven't used them myself,but supposedly its a very good bait for pike fishing!

deadly bait for pike, i had a 16 pounder on it.......dunno what it is like in the sea though :?

yes have use them years ago caught a cod off a boat once :o :shock:

took me lamprey and used it for tipping lug, dabs liked it
it out fished squid and is a lot tougher than mack was fishing dublin bay last night for an elusive bass(they eluded me!) will try it in deeper water next trip

heard that they are meant to be deadly for huss,ray and conger, think its due to the large quantities in ther body...

Slimy buggers but one of my favourite pike baits. Bound to be worth a go for some of the bigger sea predators.
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout
