there are a few variations of scoring.. the most common being length of fish

there is usually a minimum size for fish to count 25cm for flatties and 30cm for round fish.. anything below these sizes dont count

say a fish measures 35cm.. that is 35 points
if there is a species bonus of say 10 points that bring the total to 45points
if a fish of say 40cm is caught but is of the same species then only 40 points is added...
bonus points are added after the competition... and you are not allowed to score your own card, the person beside you(or who ever is nearest with a pen/match measure) scores your card...

well thats my interpretation of it

If you are fishing Leinster open you must get two men to sign your card each time you catch a fish and then get a man to sign your card at the end of compo when you both add up your score. you only measure the first doggie. You must have Ian golds measure to record lenght of fish.

ulster - all fish over 20cm count, 1 point per cm
golds measure used as standard.
dogs get certain points no matter what the length
these are for open comps.....

for club comps they are at each clubs discretion
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!
