float fishing

lads, headin to the rocks in howth the weekend... was thinkin bout doing a bit of float fishing round them... any wrasse to be had out there at all?

Probably not mate. The wrasse is predominantly a summer species, especially around Dublin and areas this North. The cold snap we've been having would most likely have pushed any stragglers out into deeper water.

Should be plenty of whiting and codling around though. Lug tipped with some white flesh, mackeral/squid/sandeel should do the business, keep your baits hard on the bottom though!
