#1 Post by frodo baggins »

People: myself and 'crack off' Neilus

Duration: 7pm til 11.30pm

Tide: around 9.30pm or so

Weather: clear skies and zero wind. temperature not far off freezing

Bait: shop bought lug. sandeel, squid, mackeral, razorfish (all frozen)

Rigs: all sorts! 3 hook flappers. 2 hook clipped down. and pulley rig

Results: 2 very good dabs for Neilus. 1 nice thornie for me

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Great to catch up with Neilus again. The 'varied' conversation kept us entertained despite the lack of bites. Neilus had the Dabs on lug and fish baits on 3 hook flappers. the thornie came to a whole squid and a couple of sandeel mounted "Bill Ryan" style on a pennell. despite the conditions being perfect for whiting and coalies, we didn't get a sniff of them. although the strand is starting to shape up to be a reliable ray venue.
