carrickfergus harbour 17/01/07

Peopleme

Duration1900/2130

Tide:full in at 10

Weather:strong easterly

Bait:fresh whole herring squid lugworm

Rigs:2 hook flapper and conger trace heavy mono 6/0

Results:stap conger

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:went out ta get head showered for a few hours fancied trying to catch a few whiteing no joy but they do say catch the least when the winds blowing east I was just packing up when i checked the conger rod it was all solid but i heaved and tugged I thought I was snagged then I felt the eel break loose from whatever it was wrapped around its amazing such a small eel can hold ground ah well 1st conger for the year happydays.

the eels we are gonna get on saturday will be 3 times the size and maybe a few cod
2010 species list: coalies, flounder, whiting, pollock, cod, doggie, sea trout, pouting, poor cod, short spined sea scorpion, long spined sea scorpion, 3 breaded rockling, shore rockling, 5 breaded rockling, tompot blenny, mackie, placie, dab, bullhuss, conger, ballan wrasse, corkwing wrasse, goldshinny wrasse,thronie, lesser weaver, bass, tub gurnard, red gurnard, grey gurnard, shanny, rock goby, turbot,

CONGER COUNTER: 42

didn't think there was any good fishing to be had at Carrickfergus maybe its time i looked closer to home as well i am sure there are fish in larne lough

There is fish round larne harbour by the lights u cant fish of the harbour but u can get close to it round at the tower cheers lads for ur comments :lol:Jonny sure we will attempt an all nighter if we can stick the weather we might get something decent :roll:
