Hey, yeah a really enjoyable day. Great to see everybody.
Weather was horrendo for the first hour or 2, very srong wind blowing straight down the beach, decent swell up and a brief, heavy rain storm. It did calm down significantly for the last couple of hours or so and ended up almost pleasant.
I was using lug mainly with the occassional bit of mackerel and mussel. Fished close in with size 2 hooks.
Had a codling of 3.5lbs  and a smallish doggie.
I hardly fish the East coast anymore. I was using 2 rigs, one with 3 hooks on 18inch snoods all above the lead and the other with 2 hooks, one below the lead (this one got the codling). Were they sensible tactics?

Yeah good to meet everyone, I was the guy who turned up late 1530 ish. I fished at the end and said hello to all on the way up. I was lucky enough to see the good codling being caught just as I arrived.

I fished on after the comp till about 2000 and the dogs moved in after dark when it started to quieten a little, I got the first just in time for Mr Green to see. I ended up with 7 dogs and one codling of around 1.5 lbs plus some small stuff. All the bigger fish were caught after dark.

Best bait over all for me was squid.
