I put up a question before but didn't get any response. I hope to try here sunday going into darkness. Any tips on fishing this area? I understand peeler and fresh lug are best but I'll have neither. I'll be using on mussles, razor and squid.

Donagh, myself and Peter McGroary will be fishing there around the same time if you would like to meet up. Have you fished there before? I didnt respond on your previous post as I think you were looking for a tackle shop between the tunnel roundabout and there or something and Im not aware of one.....? If you're stuck for bait, give me a call Sunday morning and I can organise and collect any amount of frozen stuff for you.
Big baits fished on pennell rigs are the way to go for cod I find. I have used nothing but frozen baits this past couple of months with success so dont worry too much about that end of things. Big Razor, mack and black lug cocktails have done the business for me. Fished here a couple of times recently in good blows and have had cod to over 5lbs at a bit of distance.

I didn't go down the last time as the kids were sick and I've never fished down there. Hopefully nothing will come up this time. I'd be on for a meet up. I've sent a couple of texts/emails out so there might be one or two more with me but I've no responses yet. I'll get your number through the club and ring/text sunday.
thanks

No bother, only thing is it will be fishing on the ebb and I havent a notion how that will fare out. We shall see. Dunno what time we will get there as I think we will be doing a bit of travelling around to a few marks on Sunday with a bit of luck but the aim would be to head east late afternoon anyhow. There are a few different marks along the beach worth trying but better to judge on the day, you know yourself.
