Thanks BigPhil and Jude.

Best days fishing i've had in years! Benone is usually a real pain with usually very little caught by me. I just couldn't have missed yesterday! At my peg the flounder and turbot were of cracking quality and just happened to feed on my offerings

My biggest flounder 47cms! a real beast weighted in a 3lb 11ozs (certified scales), I'd 2 at 41cm's and the rest were all in the mid to high 30cm's apart from 1 smaller turbot of 28cm's. I'd 12 fish in total for a points score of 405. 8) All fish released to fight another day : 8)

The Haddock was caught by the fellow on the next peg to me.

I thought I also had the longest flat pool with that flounder but just at the last cast I had 2 counting fish. I was taking the hooks out and getting them measured when Uel came down the beach with a Turbot of 55cm's! Bang went the flat pool, but fair play to Uel for catching it. He even knocked another one off that was approx have the size of the big one on the same trace as not to loose it. And both fish at once on a Greys BZE rod! It was bent some funny shapes apparently trying to get the fish landed.

A good day over all for GADSAC as we had Andrew Snoddy in second place in the Juniors getting a silver medal. I think Jim Snoddy was in the top 3 also but can't be 100% sure  Sorry, I was incorrect in this statement, he was 4th in Zone  I was close

That's 2 years in a row that someone from GADSAC has won the gold medal, 8) can we make it 3 in a row?
It really depends on Jude being allowed out with the lads fishing again by next year, by the boss!!  So I think we might struggle

Thanks codfather, it was your Ryan that showed me how to fish the way I did.

I have always said that I feel Benone is very much a place where it depended on the peg draw that you got. I've fished it for a number of years and haven't even counted or sometimes even caught a fish.

This year was different though. 8) Although I still do feel it was the peg draw that I picked. (I've booked the same peg for next year already    )

12 flounder and turbot with an average size of 33.75cm's, that's some shooting, sorry I'm giving secrets away now, double barrel shotgun every time
