Donaghadee Pier 05/01/07

#1 Post by Livid »

People: Drew, Myself, Hairyconger

Duration: 4pm-7:30pm

Tide: Dropping to low water

Weather: Reasonably calm and clear but very cold

Bait: Rag (dead), Party Squid, Mackeral

Rigs: Various

Results: Codling, Coalfish, Pouting, Whiting

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:

A reasonably quiet session in the Dee tonight, not much happened as it hit low water. Nothing of any significant size caught today, the biggest perhaps being a Coalie of 24cm caught by Drew. I had a poor session only managing a single small Codling, i suppose its better than blanking and gets the 2007 species list off the ground. I managed to miss several decent bites, one in perticular that stripped the bait.

lol, just wee miniature squid, they aren't actually called Party Squid, we just called them that. I didn't use any though, not a fan of squid as bait, just would use it to tip off Mackeral sometimes.

#11 Post by scotchman »

I'm reliably informed that 3 ne-er do-wells were warned with regard to fishing the Pier without the necessary D/Dee 'Pier Permits'...Any truth in this scurrelous rumour?.. :wink: :wink: :lol:
