Tope from Strangford lough

#1 Post by Jonny »

After reading fishingmidgets thread on sharks it got me thinking about catching Tope from shore in Strangford Lough.
Has anyone here ever tried ?
What months of the year are best for Tope in Strangford ?
What marks would be most likely to be productive ?(preferably on the Portaferry side of the lough)
Fishing off the bottom or float ?

Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

I have heard of Tope being caught a few years back from shore marks around the lough entrance, think i got the info just doing a google search at the time, but it said nowadays the best bet was to get a boat out a few hundred yards.
