Red Bay, County Antrim, 24th & 27th

People:Me, Big G and Jonny

Duration:9.30-5.30

Tide:in&out

Weather:ok

Bait:Fresh lug, rag, mak and squid

Rigs:pullys, flappers

Results:2 dogs, 1 turbot, 5 flounder

Catch and Release:: Yes



Report:Christmas eve started at the white rocks of Glenarm were we got the 2 dogs on mak, then moved round to Red Bay were there was 1 turbot just under a 1lb caught on mak/lug. Then 3 good flounder also on mak/lug. 27th fished Red Bay again in hope of more turbot but no such luck, only getting 2 flounder, which is better than nowt i suppose!!!!!!!!!!

where abouts in red bay ? ledges, beach or pier etc?
good to see a decent turbot turning u round this way for a change on the shore

sorry should have said..... we were fishing the pier. That has been the first turbot i have had out of red bay. I fish it from my boat as well and have never had turbot.

A few small turbot landed here during the Carrick comp also....Looking good....

yeah, it used to be great for them in the boats, not as good anymore, but encouraging to see them make a comeback a bit more on the shore, they always do turn up, but never really in big number, or much over half a pound there...

Have been up Waterfoot way in a while, gonna have to give it a try soon, is it still packed on a Sat/Sun?? at the pier.
