i know this has been asked before but what do you guyes use for your ground bait
heres what i used today out of what was avalable more than any other reson
7 whole makrel
8 weatabix
two pints of roled oats
150 ml codliver oil
abou6 slices of bread
and a good amount of salt
boiled up in a big pot will let you know later how i get on in the past this has worked for coleies
this suplie should last me a few days
ground bait again

probably a bad time of year really to be trying this (I think) there being less fish about and all also I would not boil things like fish oils they can be denatured and loose their flavour try boiling up the cerel and let them cool then mince up the the fish and add it with the cod liver oil before you start.
I was thinking of doing something similar myself for mullet during the summer, alas i am cursed with a terrible affliction called lazyness :D

i use coarse fishing brown crumb and liquidised bread for my base, all the weetabix stuff and cereals sounds like it would only do the same job for more effort. brown crumb is cheap i get 25kg for 23 euro.
additives are fish oils, mashed up mack, canned mack, sardines, canned sardines, catfood, cut up prawns, mussles, worm, bits of crab etc ect.
i find its great for wrasse, pollock and mullet
